Around fourteen thousand people are exposing to eye diseases every month in Pakistan which means that one Pakistani is catching disease every three minutes which is distressing the whole society. An insignificant number of victims have access to the affordable and quality health services which leaves some 175,200 per annum with permanent blindness. Good news is that that majority have curable blindness, 80 per cent of blindness is avoidable through prevention or treatment.
This is one of the major reason Pakistan has over three million blind which has become a serious social issue. No one could believe that this staggering number is so critical for people getting blind every year until the time we did our research about this issue and decided to put our efforts towards supporting those communities who do not have access to medical facilities due to acute poverty.
We are conducting regular free eye camps in Pakistan which enable at least 5000 people to get access to not only free eye check-ups but also access to surgeries through our referral system. Nothing of this would not have been possible without your help and kind donations.
